The House
Here is the story of a royal saddler who, over the centuries, became manufacturer for officers and athletes, supplier for the institutions of the Republic, and then dream maker for ladies.
Born at the gates of the Palais du Louvre stables, LÉTRANGE returns today with a tribute model :
A family business
For nearly two centuries, LÉTRANGE generations have followed one another, each unique in their way. However, one mantra unites all the stubborn branches of the tree : "Heritage with a twist".
Salient feature and common bond, the desire to create and live differently brings together members of this genealogy across seven acts: Auguste, Armand, Francis, Henriette... and today Sébastien Létrange.
In the family, people remember from where they come, and people know where they go. Thus, as the founder of the House was son of a postman, a few decades later, LÉTRANGE became the official supplier to the Ministry of Posts & Telegraphs. A deeply rooted partnership that makes sense.
Our collection, Les Correspondances, is inspired by these many path crossings.
LÉTRANGE, supplier of the great explorers
In 1907 LÉTRANGE was asked to produce the equipment for the great Antarctic expedition led by Commander Charcot, on the Pourquoi-Pas?. A watershed in the history of the House, which showcased innovation capabilities and great sense of adventure.
Our eponymous bag acknowledges this memorable odyssey.
LÉTRANGE, the House that invented the tag holder in 1926
In 1926, LÉTRANGE filed a patent for its invention : the tag holder was born. This small, modest yet revolutionary accessory allowed travelers worldwide to identify their luggage without revealing their own identities. LÉTRANGE tag holder made history and became part of today daily life.
Our 'Sur-moi' card case elevates this archive into a functional and statutory accessory.
Men, Women & Leather
LÉTRANGE is a pioneering company, a prosperous witness to cultural, industrial, political, and social revolutions. It has experienced moments of glory as well as periods of turmoil caused by societal and lifestyle changes. Nevertheless, the House has never lost sight of its objectives: ensuring the excellence of its products while preserving the jobs and craftsmanship of workers and artisans, the true pillars of this collective adventure.

The successor
In 2014, Sébastien Létrange, a globetrotter turned advertiser, developed a passion for the family history that had shaped the first 40 years of his life. This passion transformed into a much bolder ambition: to revive LÉTRANGE.
The project became real when I met Mathias Jaquemet. Mathias became the House Artistic Director, sharing the deep conviction that LÉTRANGE rebirth requires both self-questioning and risk-taking. The duo aimed to challenge clichés, get out commonplaces, and generate their own vocabulary to create something new, determined to leave their imprint.
"LÉTRANGE is a house without logo. Our symbol, three stamps in the leather, celebrates a silence, a breath, and continuity. They are, literally and literarily, ellipses — markers of a story in perpetual writing"
Sébastien LÉTRANGE
